University Practicals 2011 (October)

PITS students are now attending their university practicals from yesterday 28-Oct-2011. Students of all batches - 2008, 2009 and 2010 have their practical examinations scheduled.

The schedule for the university practical sessions are available with the Departments and the COE office for those who need clarification.

Dress Code: Uniform for batches of 2009 and 2010. Formals for the batch of 2008.

Study Hours: Students can prepare for their examinations at their classrooms or have consulting sessions with faculty prior to their examination.

NOC forms: The last date for signing the NOC forms by DAP was 27-Oct-2011. Those who were unable to make it to College on Thursday (27-Oct) should:
  1. produce any certificate of merit or certificate of excellence in sports secured this academic year (OR)
  2. produce either their CAT-2 or Rehearsal exam answer sheets with a minimum of 75% in all subjects (OR)
  3. produce leave letters - for those who have had genuine emergencies 
There will be no exceptions. Saturday, 29-Oct-2011 will be the final date for students to get their NOC forms attested by DAP if they have been delayed prior.

Students who have lost their NOC forms and require duplicates must contact the Dean and obtain requisite permission.

Strict Requirement of NOC forms for Practical Examinations:
Students who have not received their NOC forms, may not be allowed to attend their University Practicals at the discretion of the Internal and External Examiners responsible for a Practical Examination. Any queries can be directed to DAP immediately.

Regular Classes: First year students of the batch of 2011 will have regular classes throughout the week. They are to strictly adhere to timings and reschedule time-tables whenever their laboratory facilities are unavailable.

NAC-TECH 25-Oct Schedule - Placement Cell Information

117 students of PITS completed the final sign-up process for the test in the campus. The list of the confirmed students was published today - http://bit.ly/nG2sE1 . (Batch 1 and Batch 2 are clearly listed here.) All students who are attending, please check this list to ensure that your name is here.

I will be assisted by the two system administrators and four faculty members during the forenoon of the day.

Location: Computer Lab 1 and Computer Lab 2 (Ground Floor, IT/Cluster)

Dress Code: Semi-Formals for both Staff and Students
Study Time:   While waiting for ID Verification and the time between Batch_1 and Batch_2, Students may use the classrooms at the IT/Cluster only.

08:15am - 08:30am 4 Coordinating Staff Members will arrive.
08:30am - 09:00am The person coordinating the electronic test will be reaching our campus. (Received by: Sunil, Staff Coordinators)
09:00am - 09:30am  Verification of Admit Cards produced by the students (Verified by: NASSCOM Coordinator)

Post Processing
01:00pm - 01:45pm Printing and hand-over of Mark-sheets for Student Records

Students should cooperate and reach the campus on time to ensure that the exam is held without delays. In case of unanticipated delay, please inform me directly by phone.

Students who have failed to register and are not listed in the above list provided by NAC-TECH are requested to contact the Placement Cell after the examination.

NAC-TECH examination at PITS Campus (Placement Cell)

Students of PITS, batch of 2012 are attending the NAC-TECH examination tomorrow (25-Oct-2011) at 08:30 in the morning.

Notification - In Plant Training - BSNL


This is to notify you that Messrs. BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.) is offering In-Plant Training (IPT) to Engineering students. This training is provided for a period of 1 week. The fee to be remitted by a student undergoing the training will be Rs.700/-. All attendees will be provided certificates by BSNL upon completion of the training.
Batches of Students interested in attending the training may approach the Public Relations Officer, BSNL, Thanjavur (Mr. Gopalakrishnan.) Additional details on the In-Plant-Training are available with the Tech Office.
Students are advised by the Chairman to take up such training during their Summer Holidays when ample time is available.
Students interested in Projects can also approach the Public Relations Officer – for Projects provided by the RGM – TTC – Chennai. This is strictly under the discretion of the core Engineering department of BSNL.
BSNL has also offered options of student batches making industrial visit to the nearest Telephone Exchange to understand the Electronic Communication Equipment used. Students interested in this may approach the Tech Office after completion of the Examination.
If Students request, we may also arrange for knowledge sharing workshops from BSNL on Electronics and Telecommunication Equipment.
