Campus Placement Initiatives: Rules and Regulations

Those who need to participate in Recruitment Initiatives of PITS Placement Cell must read the following rules and adhere to them.
  1. For eligibility to placements, you must have secured 60% or above in all University [theory and practical] examinations you have appeared on or before 01-Nov-2011.
  2. You need to have secured a minimum of 60% in your 10th standard, 12th standard (or Diploma Course) and all semesters insofar attended.
  3. You must have secured distinction in all engineering theory and practical subjects you have appeared on or before 01-Nov-2011.
  4. You must register with the Department of placement availing the form published online at http://bit.ly/szR6Ke before 23-Nov-2011.
  5. All students who fit the above eligibility criterion may attend the pre-placement talk.
  6. After the Pre-placement talk, students can opt to attend the recruitment process or decide to decline participation and continue attending classes or other scheduled activity. In this case, they must meet a member of the Placement Team to confirm their lack of participation and the reason attributed.
  7. During the pre-placement talk, Organizations will reveal their profiles, the roles for which they are conducting fresher recruitment. Students must choose the Organizations carefully at their discretion. The Placement Cell will provide Career Guidance and Advise only.
  8. If a student chooses to attend the Recruitment process of an Organization, they must go through the entire recruitment process as explained by the company.
  9. If a student is shortlisted and thereby given a tentative offer or a confirmed offer from the Organization cannot participate in future placement activities unless permitted by the Placement Team.
  10. Students who intend to pursue higher education and therefore not invest time and effort in Job opportunities need not participate unless they are seriously willing to take up any offers.
  11. Students who receive Offer Letters in Off-Campus Recruitments not conducted by the PITS Placement Cell must disclose it to the Placement Team. They will still be eligible to participate in initiatives at the Campus.
  12. Students who receive Offer Letters must sign and acknowledge them at their own discretion. They may acquire an understanding of Contracts and Memorandums of Understanding by requesting the Chairman. The Placement Team cannot be held responsible for any issues arising from misinterpretation of the terms listed in the Offer Letter.
  13. If a recruitment process takes multiple days and a candidate fails to appear on subsequent days after having shortlisted, the student will not be permitted to attend placement initiatives until the completion of the same for all other eligible candidates.
  14. Students participating in Recruitment Initiatives from the placement cell must follow dress-code, grooming guidelines and spoken-language guidelines always.
  15. The Chairman and Director of Placement have exclusive rights to permit or disallow discretions.
  16. Any misunderstanding with officials of the Organization with which a student has been placed will be considered a disciplinary infraction and investigated by the “Disciplinary Action Panel” (DAP).
Students who are unable to perform in multiple recruitment processes will be given lower priority to permit others to get selected sooner, if they are deemed fit.

Please ensure that you read the post on the members of the "Placement Team" whom you can contact. http://pitstech.blogspot.com/2011/11/pits-placement-team.html - This is for your convenience.
