Experiencing Engineering ... Students and a special Experience
Instead of observing standard operating procedure in dealing with latecomers and grooming defaulters to classes, they were requested to report to the "Estate Manager" for performing duties. All five Gentlemen, who, by now were neatly dressed, were reluctant to report. They were instructed that they would be performing Engineering work - related to maintenance.
They reported to the estate manager Mr.Ambrose and received their work detail with instructions to hold firm the rules of the college, and not let go of the grooming whilst they performed the work. By the end of the day, all of them, as a team, had worked on servicing two Electrical Motors within the campus -- which they later confessed was a wonderful learning experience. They had also worked on preparing mild steel for their junior batch's practical examinations.

Helping Lecturers and Professors reach students better ...
Heads of various Departments continually use feedback from the students to help guide Professor and Lecturers reporting to them to improve themselves.
Continuous Improvement, being one of the chief methods to achieve Total Quality Management, is what we hope to achieve by our present feedback initiatives.
Self-Discipline: PITS Students show us how ...
Today, I witnessed an event, not singular, but exemplary of students (of PITS) enforcing self-discipline. During the Project Coordination Hour allotted during the morning session, it was found that a few students ended up creating a bit of a mess on the floor after having had biscuits inside the Tech Lab.
This was immediately noticed, and we asked the students as to who was responsible. Two gentlemen, who had signed up for the terminals near which the biscuit crumbs had fallen took up responsibility, skipped their Lunch, went to the Housekeeping Department, got Mops and cleaning equipment, and gave the lab a thorough clean. In the process, the lunch-break being short, they lost their own opportunity to have Lunch.
