World's Most Dangerous Airports

The most dangerous airports in the world, from offshore airports in japan to ice covered ones in Antarctica to an airport which has a road that runs through it in Gibraltar!
Lukla Airport Nepal
Since Lukla Nepal is the place most people start their Mount Everest trek, this Himalayan strip gets quite a bit of traffic--mostly to and from Kathmandu. Sirens inform folks for miles when an airplane is landing here, and as you would suspect, only helicopters and Twin Otter type planes can handle the 2,000 foot, uphill runway that is fenced off at the end, to protect you from the edge of a mountain cliff.

First Year Students Receive Prizes for Snooker

Students of PITS received their prizes for playing Snooker. Let's congratulate the winners and runners-up of the Snooker Tournaments conducted by our Chairman.

Siranjivi Kapilan of the 1st year, batch of 2011 won the Singles Tournament.

Aeromodeling : Special Session Today!

Students belonging to the Department of Aeronautical Engineering will be attending a special session by the Chairman on Aeronautical Engineering at the Tech Lab. This will be followed by the screening of an old classic British Movie on Aircraft Flying and Pioneers filled with a sense of Humor.

They will receive explanations of how Airframes and Engines work, the history of their inventions and development and their present commercial deployment. This is to give them a quick overview on how, and where aeronautical engineering is immediately applied.

A few students belonging to the Department of Mechanical Engineering will also be attending the session.

PITS: Faculty Meeting

Today, at PITS, our Chairman will address the Faculty at 4:10pm in the evening for a General Faculty Meeting. This is held just a day before the re-opening of the Institution tomorrow - 30-Nov-2011.

Prior to this, we will have a session with all senior Faculty members attending a Briefing on the Process and Method used for Final Year Project Management. This is to help faculty who will serve as "Internal Academic Project Guides" from within the Department.

During the work-day Faculty members will participate in verifying their sessions for Class Orientation which is being overseen by the Dean, Mrs. Nirmala to ensure that students receive a clear idea about each subject (both theory and practical) which they will receive during the course of the semester.

PITS Inauguration for the batch of 2011-12


Parisutham Institute of Technology & Science inaugurated their first year classes for the academic year 2011-12.on 15 th August 2011. The highest Scorer, Ms Joy Jasmine who had secured 1148/1200, and who joined the institution was awarded a merit scholarship and a lap-top by Parisutham Philomina Educational Trust. Seen in the picture are Joy Jasmine, Professor Nirmala(Dean) , Chairman S.P.Anthonisamy, & Professor A.S.D.Pillai.

Eco Club session on 4 Aug 2011





The Eco Club of PITS had a session on Thursday, 4 Aug 2011.

Our Chairman gave a brief on farming detailing cultivation methods for Coconut trees.

The workshop was conducted in an open air setting at the farm within the premises of the PITS campus.
