Feel Employable - Day 1

Students had a wonderful session interacting with Prof.A.R and team for 'Feel Employable.'

They had interactive sessions and games.

 The sessions were timed from 9:00am in the morning and began with Registrations. Students who were participating had assembled in the Tech Lab and were then directed to start registration. As soon as the students had registered, the sessions started with them seated in order.

Feel Employable at PITS, Dec 2011

Here are instructions for those who are attending 'Feel Employable' at PITS Campus on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (12, 13, 14 December 2011.)

This training event is to help you become employable by breaking any hesitation and inhibitions that you may have in communicating freely. You also need to know how to communicate professionally while you are sending your CVs to multiple companies. Your transformation from being an academic student to a professional corporate engineers requires you to improve your attitude. All the skills which you have been imbibing throughout your stay in this institution have to put to use for your own benefit and to further your development in conjunction with your friends.

The event itself is co-ordinated by our Senior Placement Director Prof. A Ramaswamy (former Dean - Training and Placement of SASTRA University)

Please ensure that you bring your receipts for payment of Rs.250 to reconfirm in case of any doubts. The list of students is already with Ms.Margret Jemy of the Placement Cell.

It is good that 121 students registered within the time of intimating the information and the next morning. We are very pleased at your speedy response  Please read further for instructions for the day.

Please do not forget to wear your blazers on Monday!

Tech Visit: Versatile - Information & Software Applications

Mr. D Ramakrishnan, Versatile Info & Software

We had the pleasure of being host to Mr. D Ramakrishnan, Executive Director - Technical, Versatile Info, addressing our students today in the afternoon. With immense experience of over fifteen (15) years from Sun Microsystems, He has founded a new company "Versatile India Pvt Ltd."

He was accompanied by their Director, Dr Natarajan who was kind enough to spend his time, and watch responses of our students.

To Learn more about their vision, there is no better place than their website (Versatile) which everyone who attended the session must at least visit. They also took interested students and enrolled them for free Oracle programs including educational newsletters, as a starting point.

PITS Shines at Anna University Zonal Athletics

Sports has been one of the focus areas of PITS, in our process of creating the complete human being - sound in both body and mind, following the motto of our Institution 'Towards Excellence.'

We congratulate the Ladies and Gentlemen who are pursuing their Engineering Courses in PITS and have been spending hours of practice on the field working day after day, to improve their own 'Personal Best.'

These achievements have not been from a single day's effort, but from perseverance of the athletes to which we owe all these results.

Among the Gentlemen at PITS, the following have scored accolades in Athletics.

Aeromodeling : Special Session Today!

Students belonging to the Department of Aeronautical Engineering will be attending a special session by the Chairman on Aeronautical Engineering at the Tech Lab. This will be followed by the screening of an old classic British Movie on Aircraft Flying and Pioneers filled with a sense of Humor.

They will receive explanations of how Airframes and Engines work, the history of their inventions and development and their present commercial deployment. This is to give them a quick overview on how, and where aeronautical engineering is immediately applied.

A few students belonging to the Department of Mechanical Engineering will also be attending the session.

Semester Reopening Today!

Today, PITS is ready to welcome all the students of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year back to classes. For the Final year students this semester (VIII) will be the most crucial of all that they have had insofar. The members of the Faculty are all committed to raising the level of our academics several notches higher as we progress forward. Your regularity, punctuality, attention to detail and perseverance toward perfection will help making you better citizens for the future.

Your reopening date has been advanced to help you complete preparing for the University examinations pertaining to this semester earlier than everyone else. If you avail this opportunity, you will find options open to learn more and add additional skills beyond your university curriculum and syllabus. Please give priority to these classes and ensure that your performance is no lesser than the best you can give. Read on to know what's in store in the Morning and Afternoon sessions.

PITS Inauguration for the batch of 2011-12


Parisutham Institute of Technology & Science inaugurated their first year classes for the academic year 2011-12.on 15 th August 2011. The highest Scorer, Ms Joy Jasmine who had secured 1148/1200, and who joined the institution was awarded a merit scholarship and a lap-top by Parisutham Philomina Educational Trust. Getting Ready for RILA

Everyone here has been making extensive preparations for RILA 2011 - which starts tomorrow.

There are many special resource personnel coming over from far away, just to meet and work with the students of the batch (2008-2012).

Several activities and sessions have been planned out. The event will be coordinated by the Dean, Mrs. Nirmala. Those who need any clarifications can please get in touch with the Dean or Mr. Sunil or ED or Chairman on the days of the events.

About 150 Students have received their blazers, suits and ties today at the campus and some had them corrected.

Chairman had a quick photo session with some of the students while preparing for RILA. Here are some preview photographs from the session.









Participants must ensure that they are wearing their blazers at the opening ceremony which is at "Lecture Theatre 2" (first floor.)

College starts functioning at 8:30am, late-comers will be dealt with severely.

Those who do not attend RILA without prior notice or due notice will have disciplinary activity initiated against them. This may include severe measures including suspension.

Tents are also being erected for students who will be attending the RILA session. Here are some pictures from the site.




Participants must ensure that they follow the Spoken English Rule. Defaulters will be sent for a separate English Bootstrap camp apart from on the spot punishments.

Quick Schedule prior to the beginning of RILA

All Students must report to their respective classrooms (latest) by 9:30am where they will be given instructions for the session.

Day Scholars - Girls may move the common room with their bags for directions on Hostel room allotment and accommodation. The hostels will close at 9:30am strictly.

Day Scholars - Boys must go to the Hostel premises between 8:30 am and 9:30 am to find room allotments and to keep their bags.

Those who are unable to get to the hostel or get room allotments between 8:30am and 9:30am are requested to secure their bags in designated common rooms well ahead of the session.

Mobile Phones
Students who are bringing mobile phones to the campus must register them and place them with the custody of staff in-charge of Hostel accommodation. Those who do not register their mobile phones will have them confiscated for the entire semester.

Laptops
Students are allowed to carry and use laptops during sessions and activities. It is the responsibility of participants to keep their laptops secure.

All students will be provided with notebooks for usage during the classroom sessions. Please use them wisely.

New Indian Express Reports on Excelencia 2011

The New Indian Express published a report on Excelencia 2011, the Annual Day of PITS.

Excelencia 2011, our Annual day was celebrated on 2-April-2011. Dr. V Ramachandran, former Vice-Chancellor, Anna University of Technology, Trichy presided over the event. He distributed awards to the winners.

The function was graced by parents and well-wishers of the institution. The cultural events on the day provided wonderful entertainment. Students were extremely professional and disciplined in their conduct, and abstained from watching the ICC World Cup Cricket Finale - showing their endearment to the institution.

PITS - Cultural Awards


PITS Cultural Awards were presented to students who participated in competitions involving extra curricular activities.

Winners of Photography, Videography, Resume Writing Contests along with Winners of "Festin' o Beats" - Dance, Singing, Music, Model-Making, Pencil Sketching and other cultural contests received their prizes from Mr. A Azhagappan, Correspondent of Blossom School. He also toured the Students Centre after the function.
